As Governor Ron DeSantis’ family travels the road many American families navigate in the face of a cancer diagnosis, the far-Left — the fascist Left — in the American political sphere has outed themselves as crude and heartless, further exposing their bloodlust for power and control at all costs.
Prominent Democrats in politics and media accused Florida’s Governor of going “missing” and “being on vacation” last week as the tantamount to benign Omicron case count rose in the Sunshine State. The spike on Omicron cases nationwide facilitates the national acquisition of herd immunity even as experts declare deaths and hospitalization for COVID down.
But much to the contrary of what Democrats opportunistically espoused in the media, DeSantis was not on vacation. He was accompanying his wife, Casey, as she received treatment for breast cancer. The DeSantis family announced Casey’s diagnosis in October.
DeSantis press secretary, Christina Pushaw, revealed that DeSantis was at work in the Capitol every day last week except for Wednesday when he accompanied his wife while she underwent treatment.
Hyper-partisan media flunky, MSNBC’s Joy Reid — who routinely spouts non-truths while utilizing caustic verbiage, abusively tweeted, “”A governor, not governing during a crisis; and sunning his belly on vacation instead. @GovRonDeSantis is the Nero of Ted Cruzes.”
Pushaw directly responded to Reid’s caustic remarks by posting DeSantis’ schedule on Dec. 30th, saying, “Have you ever considered that you’re one of the reasons nobody trusts the media?”
But Reid wasn’t the only disingenuous, uninformed, political opportunist to display her propagandistic bloodlust:
Jerry Demings (D), Orange County, FL: “Our residents, all Florida residents should be outraged, and they should ask the question, now, where’s our state? Where’s our governor? Where is Ron DeSantis now? When was the last time you saw the governor do a press briefing regarding COVID-19?”
Tiffany Cross, MSNBC: “[T]he incompetent Trump acolyte appears to be missing in action as Omicron sweeps across his state.”
US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY): “Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks?”
The Daily Beast: “Please Take a Moment From Your Vacation, Ron DeSantis, and Reassure Florida”
Nikki Fried, the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Florida gubernatorial candidate running against Gov. DeSantis: “As governor, I’ll show up.”
Why This Is Important
This can only be seen as a new, abusive, and nauseatingly low benchmark for Democrats, a low that should see both Democrat leadership reprimanding each offender and Democrat voters ending their careers. There is no place — anywhere or at any time — for this kind of unbridled hatred for another human being, for political purposes or otherwise.
This type of heartless behavior is never justified and those who act out like this have no defense, none. Those who demonstrated this heartless political bloodlust need to be culled from political discourse and a price to be paid.
The American people — Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Independent, etc. — simply do not have to put up with or accept this type of behavior from any public figure. Truthfully, it is well past time that We the People refuse this type of hatred in any circle in our lives.
Every time a leader on the Left — even the far-Left — is afflicted with a disease and/or dies (a perfect example comes in the recent passing of Harry Reid) those not in the far-Left demographic show reverence for the person and back-bench our political differences. This is never the case with the far-Left, the mainstream media elite, the Hollywood glitterati, and the rest of those who enjoy celebrating the personal demises of those who don’t march lock-step with their narcissistic and abusive ideology.
In the immediate aftermath of this story, a woman very close to me spoke of the horror of the far-Left’s response:
“As a cancer survivor whose husband ended up divorcing me upon hearing of my cancer diagnosis (he told me, ‘I don’t know if I can handle this’) the heartless response of those on the far-Left infuriates me!
“Until a forced medical retirement, I was a dedicated nurse for over 20 years. Statistically (and this should expose selfishness in our society), 90 percent of all marriages end in divorce once a cancer diagnosis is received. It sickens me beyond words to hear anyone tearing at a man that is supporting his wife during breast cancer treatment by going with her to an appointment!! This is another example of politics being placed above human life and it is disgusting!”
To the fact that Nikki Fried used an illegitimate opportunity to strike out disingenuously at her opponent, my friend opined:
“Hey Fried! Maybe you should be worried about your mug shot on every gas pump in Florida!?!? I Sure loved the tax I had to pay per gallon! Aren’t you responsible!? It is your face right beside the pump price, right?!”
Of course, she was talking about the fact that for years, Commissioner Fried used taxpayer dollars to affix her likeness in the form of a headshot picture on every Florida Department of Agriculture tax stamp, which is required at every Florida gas pump.
The American public doesn’t have to tolerate or accept the political status quo of “win at all cost,” slash-and-burn. We can refuse to accept this and that starts with starving the individuals who behave in a sub-human manner. We can also start publicly speaking out about how we want these people expunged from the political sphere completely.
Saul Alinsky’s Rule Number 5 in his book, Rules for Radicals (the far-Left’s tactical manifesto) gives up a chief game plan in purging the heartless from public office:
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also, it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”
It’s time to use the enemy’s playbook to our advantage.
